Editorial & Medical Review Policy

Last updated:

Toned publishes education about GLP-1 weight loss, peptide therapy, and related clinical topics — content that can shape real medical decisions. This policy documents the standard every clinical page on this site is held to before and after it publishes.

Principle 01

Sourced from peer-reviewed evidence

Clinical content is grounded in peer-reviewed studies, regulatory guidance from bodies such as the FDA, and clinical guidelines from professional medical societies. We cite primary sources wherever possible and grade the strength of the evidence rather than overstating it.

Principle 02

Reviewed against the evidence before publishing

Every clinical page on this site is reviewed by the Toned editorial team before it publishes. The review checks claims against current evidence, flags missing caveats, and confirms that education never drifts into promotion. Clinical care itself — including every prescribing decision — comes from independently licensed providers, not from this team.

Principle 03

Updated on a defined cadence

Clinical guidance evolves. Pages tagged as clinical are re-reviewed at least annually, and sooner when guidelines, labels, or regulatory status change. The last-reviewed date is recorded for each page.

Principle 04

Independent of marketing

Clinical content is written and reviewed independently of pricing and promotional decisions. Where the evidence does not support a treatment for a given reader, the page says so.

Principle 05

Transparent about limitations

We state plainly when evidence is preliminary, when long-term data is unavailable, and that individual results vary. We do not imply guaranteed outcomes, and compounded medication FDA status is disclosed wherever those treatments are discussed.

Principle 06

Corrections, promptly

When an error is identified — by a reader, a reviewer, or new evidence — we correct the page promptly and update its review date. Substantive corrections are noted rather than silently rewritten.

How a Clinical Page Is Produced

  • Research — a writer compiles the primary literature, regulatory status, and society guidelines for the topic
  • Draft — the page is written in plain language, with benefits and considerations given equal structural weight
  • Editorial review — the Toned editorial team reviews the draft against the evidence and this policy (see clinical oversight)
  • Publication and re-review — the page publishes with its review recorded, then re-enters review at least annually or when the evidence changes

Scope

This policy covers the educational content on toned.health. It is not medical advice — see the Medical Disclaimer — and it does not govern clinical care, which is delivered by independently licensed providers through our telehealth platform's hosted infrastructure.
